superb quality
I bought these to connect a generator to my well pump and they work great. These were out of stock everywhere in the Southeast after hurricane Michael. The overall quality is surprisingly good for this price point, connecting it up to the heavy duty outdoor insulated wire I used was easy, solid and appears will be very weather resistant.

Works as intended. Never had a need for such a product until Hurricane Michael drove up the price and made them impossible to find in stores. Drove 30 miles away to find enough cell service to try Amazon. It said prime but 4 day delivery. I purchased hoping to find one in stores sooner. Not only did we not find one in stores but it came in 2 days! Fresh running water was a glorious thing! Thank you!! Directions aren’t the best, but easy to find other places.

I purchased these to connect a generator to my home in case of an outage. I didn't need them immediately -- two day shipping with Prime did the trick. The price of each at the local "big box" store was $24+, from Miady $11 with shipping. I ended up ordering again because of another need. Plugs are great quality; there isn't a difference between the $24 "big box" store and Miady plug. I would definitely purchase again as I may be wiring another home up in the future.

Better than most
1-Star-Positive engagement gor the large diameter wires (#4,I think). 1-Star- shiny finish that should resist residue better than dill finish 1-star-flexible, thick, tight fitting rear gasket which should basically be waterproof around a large variety of wire sizes 1-star-generous, tight fitting write retainer at the base of the connector positively clamps a large variety of wire sizes, preventing even the slightest movement and loads being placed on the actual wire connections. 1-star-great hardware, proudly sized fire common screwdrivers-especially philips. I can't count the times I've tried to install one of these and had to go out of my way to use multiple screwdrivers, until I got one to engage the screws well enough for a positive purchase. Also, I don't know that there's a torque spec for these screws, but I'm sure that I exceeded it heartily without any sign of stripping. To some, the details of making something as simple as a plug isn't an issue. But if you've replaced dozens, then you're familiar with ask kinds of small issues with installation, reliability and robustness. It's almost a given that many of these plugs are not going to outlast your machine, and you'll plan on having to make an emergency purchase at the box store or the local hardware store for almost $30 when all you wanted to do was weld $2 worth of steel. This often taken for granted component seems to me to be reusable for decades with proper handling. I can't say that about %90 of tool accessories that I've ever bought-Especially for 1/2 the price of the box stores.

I spent 36 dollars for a similar plug from home Depot and this one is just as good for a fraction of the price.

Easy + effective!
Comparable part at your local hard warehouse is probably 25usd. This lets you utilize your 240v spot in the generator. Instructions are printed on the inside of the box. You can use a 3 wire cord by leaving the silver(neutral) terminal unhooked. This part is easy to figure out. Goes together nice and clean. No issues at all. I'm very happy to have a working well pump now :)
